چکیده

The Randall-Sundrum (RS) model with the small curvature is studied. In such a scheme the mass spectrum of Kaluza-Klein (KK) gravitons is similar to that in a model with one extra flat dimension. The gravity effects in the Bhabha scattering at the energy 1 TeV are estimated. The calculations are based on the analytical formula which describes virtual graviton contributions. It takes into account both a discrete character of the mass spectrum and nonzero widths of the KK gravitons. 1 RS model with the small curvature The Randall-Sundrum (RS) model [1] is realized in a slice of the AdS5 space-time with the background warped metric: ds = e ημν dx μ dx + dy , (1) where y = rθ (−π 6 θ 6 π), r being the “radius” of extra dimension, and ημν is the Minkowski metric. The points (xμ, y) and (xμ,−y) are identified. The parameter κ defines a 5-dimensional scalar curvature of the AdS5 space. Namely, the Ricci curvature invariant R(5) = −20 κ. That is why, in what follows we will call κ “curvature”. There are two 3D branes in the model with equal and opposite tensions located at the point y = πr (called the TeV brane) and point y = 0 ∗E-mail: [email protected]

Two-loop QED Corrections to Bhabha Scattering

Bhabha scattering, ee → ee, is a crucial process in the phenomenology of particle physics. Its relevance is mainly due to the fact that it is the process employed to determine the luminosity L at ee colliders: in fact, L = NBhabha/σth, where NBhabha is the rate of Bhabha events and σth is the Bhabha scattering cross section calculated from theory. Two kinematic regions are of special interest f...

Planar Two-loop Master Integrals for Massive Bhabha Scattering: N F = 1 and N F = 2

Recent developments in the computation of two-loop master integrals for massive Bhabha scattering are briefly reviewed. We apply a method based on expansions of exact Mellin-Barnes representations and evaluate all planar four-point master integrals in the approximation of small electron mass at fixed scattering angle for the one-flavor case. The same technique is employed to derive and evaluate...

First order radiative corrections to Bhabha scattering in d dimensions ∗

The luminosity measurement at the projected International Linear e + e − Collider ILC is planned to be performed with forward Bhabha scattering with an accuracy of the order of 10 −4. A theoretical prediction of the differential cross-section has to include one-loop weak corrections, with leading higher order terms, and the complete two-loop QED corrections. Here, we present the weak part and t...

A method to determine the running of α from a measurement of small-angle Bhabha scattering is proposed and worked out. The method is suited to high statistics experiments at e + e − colliders, which are equipped with luminometers in the appropriate angular region. A new simulation code predicting small-angle Bhabha scattering is also presented.

Virtual gravitons and brane field scattering in the RS model with a small curvature

The contribution of virtual s-channel Kaluza-Klein (KK) gravitons to high energy scattering of the SM fields in the Randall-Sundrum (RS) model with two branes is studied. The small curvature option of the RS model is considered in which the KK gravitons are narrow low-mass spin-2 resonances. The analytical tree-level expression for a process-independent gravity part of the scattering amplitude ...
